Dr Calvin Koh

Dr Calvin Koh is a gastroenterologist practicing at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.  He obtained his medical degree (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and underwent further medical training at the National University Hospital (NUH), where he subsequently obtained his specialist accreditation from the Specialist Accreditation Board (SAB) of Singapore and is a fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore.

Following completion of specialist training, he was awarded an Academic Medicine Development Award and undertook an advanced endoscopy fellowship under the auspices of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) with the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University of Florida, USA to further his interest in interventional endoscopy.

Prior to joining The Gastroenterology Group, he was senior consultant at NUH, where he also served as director of endoscopy, as well as an assistant professor at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine with clinical and research interests in endoscopy, pancreatobiliary disease, gastric and colon cancer, with more than 50 academic papers in these fields in regional and international scientific journals.  He is also faculty for local and regional gastroenterology conferences.

 

He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) (London), as well as the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (FASGE), and a current committee member of the chapter of Gastroenterology in the College of Physicians at the Academy of Medicine, Singapore

Besides gastroscopy and colonoscopy, he also performs endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), small bowel enteroscopy, radiofrequency ablation of Barretts dysplasia, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy and nasojejunal feeding tube placements as well as endoscopic mucosal resection of colon polyps.
